This week we just returned from a wonderful trip to Orcas Island. This was our second time visiting and staying on Orcas. It's so pretty there. Orcas has a lot of character, and great spots for painting! We found this little private beach near the vacation house we rented. Nobody around!
I realized that I had forgotten to bring the little connection nut to connect the canvas holder to the tripod, so I almost gave up and didn't paint.. but I thought maybe I could just hold the painting like a sketch book. It was a little clunky but it worked out okay. I'm really happy with both the paintings I did on this trip!
Oh I also forgot to bring panels, I only had this 8x10 with me. I stopped into an office store that also sold art supplies, but they didn't have panels. Luckily there was a little art co-op gallery next door, and I struck up a conversation with the artist who was working there. She very kindly sold me one of her own panels to use.
